![]() this is referred to as the “Southwest Effect.” The “Southwest Effect” Hawaiian Airlines is saying it won’t matter whether they do or not, but no one is buying that, as Southwest will undoubtedly bring with it lower fares…. ![]() Right now it looks as though they plan to, but we will have to wait and see how that develops. There has also been a lot of speculation whether or not Southwest would offer inter-island flights. Have you heard? We’ve announced plans to go to Hawaii! ![]() Maui will also be part of the plan, so you will have a number of route choices once the program is finally launched. The Los Angeles Times is stating that service will be to Honolulu, Kona and Kauai. Flight start dates and routes have yet to be announced as Southwest is still completing ETOPS certification for flights to the islands. Southwest announced on it’s Twitter and Facebook page that routes to the islands are now on the way, stating that tickets will be on sale early next year. However, early October brought us some much anticipated news regarding the Southwest to Hawaii routes. However, since the initial announcement that Southwest Airlines planned to fly to and from Hawaii things have kind of slowed down. ![]() This we know, and we have been excited ever since the initial announcement was made. It is a well-known fact that Southwest Airlines is planning on flying routes to and from Hawaii. ![]()
